Your Weeknight Card
- Total time: 15 minutes
- Active prep: 10 minutes
- Cleanup: 1 skillet
- Estimated cost: $$
- Kid flexibility: Very high
- Format: Build-your-own wraps
Why it fits tonight: Thin chicken cooks fast, the rest is assembly, and every person can keep the filling as plain or loaded as they want.
Why It Works Tonight
This strengthens the fresh-chicken lane without adding another saucy pan dinner. Put the components on the table and let the family assemble their own wraps, or serve the chicken, cheese, and tortilla separately for a cautious eater.
15-Minute Chicken Ranch Wraps Recipe
Serves: 4 · Prep: 5 minutes · Cook: 10 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 lb thin-sliced boneless, skinless chicken cutlets
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 3 cups bagged shredded lettuce or coleslaw mix
- 1 cup shredded mild cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup ranch dressing
Pantry basics: a small amount of cooking oil, salt, and pepper.
Instructions
- Heat the skillet. Lightly oil a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the chicken. Season the thin cutlets lightly with salt and pepper. Cook 3 to 4 minutes per side, or until the thickest part reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Rest and slice. Move chicken to a cutting board for 2 minutes, then slice into strips.
- Warm the tortillas. Warm tortillas briefly in the microwave or in the empty skillet.
- Build the wraps. Fill each tortilla with chicken, lettuce, cheddar, and ranch. Roll and serve.
Make This Card Fit Your Night
Picky-Eater Move
Serve a tortilla with plain sliced chicken and cheese, with ranch on the side.
Make It Cheaper
Use smaller tortillas and stretch the chicken with extra lettuce or slaw.
Use What You Have
Any mild creamy dressing can replace ranch, and shredded cabbage holds up especially well.
Lunch Tomorrow
Store chicken separately from the lettuce and tortillas, then assemble a fresh wrap the next day.
Leftovers Tomorrow
Refrigerate cooked chicken promptly for up to 3 days. Reheat chicken to steaming hot or use it cold only if it has been safely chilled and stored.
